Because it  is raining outside, dark and cold.
So have a little bit of spring sunshine.

I can not tell you how honored I am to be a guest designer for the Sisterhood of Snarky stampers this week. I have also been rather in awe of the sisterhood's funky and sarcastic designs.

grumpy cat vs modern art

Greetings,

I saw this cat stamp and fell in love, I am an adoring fan of grumpy cat.  The stamp is by Katzelkraft, their site should come with a warning on it, "you will spend money here, you will want to spend more!"

So here is my beloved grumpy cat offering his critique on modern art.

I looked into Jackson Pollock for this card and I was surprised at the styles of his work, while most of us have seen the vibrant splats pictures (technical arty term) I had never seen the landscape or monochrome drawings. Art puns expanding my horizons, bizarre.

I am entering this into the following challenges:
Less is more - paper piecing.
Sisterhood of Snarky stampers - K is for Kitties

As yesterday was Halloween, here are some images of Nowton park looking a touch on the spooky side...

"Here Frank do we look occult enough? Nah we need a skull, can't go wrong with a skull to perch on."

inspired by Astrid

Good morning,

It is a really misty day this morning, so here is a little taste of summer. This card is inspired by Astrid McClean who has a wonderful eclectic blog http://astridsartisticefforts.blogspot.co.uk/ full of excellent art. Do have a look.

Here are some photos I took of Suffolk looking dazzling in the Autumn sunlight.

feathers & fossils

Greetings,

This is my entry to this week's Less is more challenge - masculine.

I have used an embossed black feather against a background of fossil like bubbles & burshos which were wrapped in clingfilm and left to dry, this has left the background with a subtle pattern and variation in color.

Fossilized raindrops-from earth66.com
I think that colors make it rather camouflage like.

scraps and chaps

Greetings,

this is my entry to the following challenges:

SanDee & Amelie's steampunk challenges - top hat and mustaches are the 'taches not things of awe?
That's crafty - boys will be boys - 3 lush gents.

I really enjoyed making this card, the background was an experiment with brushos that didn't work but I really liked the chemical spill look it created. I then added scraps including a black card that had been embossed with a  cog like design, finally I added my gents. This is why my craft corner is such a mess, the I can rescue it/change it/use it frame of mind.

wild and free

I got some Brushos for my birthday and I have loved using them. This is a canvas which I have layered with paper scraps before painting with gesso and then I went a bit mental with Brushos. The images are stamp board which has been painted with Bushos and then stamped with visible image stamps which I always seem to end up using at the mo.

I am entering this into the wonderful:

Try it on Tuesday - hot and wild
Craft Stamper- anything goes
crafty card makers - anything but a card

two for one post

Greetings,

This is my entry to the current that's crafty challenge - Housey, housey.
the card is made using lots of layers so, fingers crossed I can give it to one of my mad cat lady friends.

I also wanted to enter this challenge to make sure I said a BIG thank you to Laura who works at That's crafty and helped me get hold of the Tim Holtz crazy birds stamps. Laura  was swift in her replies and was very polite to a rubber stamp obsessive who kept emailing her demanding updates.

This my entry to this week's less is more challenge - use a stencil.
Yes I got to use the afore mentioned stamps and this is my entry to less is more using a dylusions stencil, pickled raspberry ink and a big circle cut out.

Sunset

Good day,

This is my card for the current Less is more challenge- sunset colors. The stamp is a Lynn Perrelli which I have inked with various shades of distress inks and then framed with an embossed arch.

I have decorated the inside, because it is a large card and filling up that much space with happy birthday was a bit intimidating!

Flight

 Greetings,

I love to use bits on my cards especially if they are free or from used objects. The embossed steampunkish background is made from a Diet coke can, which I cleaned and flattened and stuck on a bit of cardboard packaging which had be painted with gesso and sprayed.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Less is more - use metal
left of center- recycling
Artful times - anything goes, sadly the last challenge

Freedom

Greetings,

If you are in the UK then mentioning voting may induce yawns, however I was thinking about how many people are not able to vote either at all or without fear of reprisal, I thought about all those women who campaigned for the right to vote.
So here are my freedom themed pieces, I used the wonderful Visible image revolution stamps over sprayed backgrounds.

and finally no matter who it is for ...
