clip board -try it on tuesday anything goes

Dearest minions,

I have been going ninja and fighting chavs again for altered materials. This clipboard was a bingo clipboard and cost 99p from a cheap shop. So I got it home, slapped gesso on it

Then fiddled around with paper scraps.

I mixed together pva glue and gesso and put the paper scraps on it, let it dry. When it was dry I then put on Claudine Helmouth's mixed media paste to varnish it. I added the whims and notes title as it needed something to balance out the cat in the hat.

This is my entry to try it on Tuesday - anything goes look forward to seeing your entry.

Ravens/ Bad moon rising

Dearest Minions,

This started out as a resonse to a song called Ravens by All About Eve and turned into Bad Moon Rising!

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Pan pastal - Magical/Mystical - it reminds me of a quote; just because something is natural does not mean that it is not also an Omen, I think that's from an old X files graphic novel.
Macabre Monday - musical mayhem
Simon says stamp and show - no rules
Divas by design anything goes

The main image is a stamp by Inkadinko and the background stamp is by the stamp man, it is latin and while I hope it is something religous it could just be a shopping list for a tea party. I mixed distress inks and copics on the main image and I really like the different shades it's created.

Best Wishes

Cash inside!

Dearest Minions,

As I am of the evil persuasion I think I will put "CASH inside" on the front of the envelopes for these cards, snigger. The image of Johnny Cash is by Smudgetastic digis and the quote from the man himself is from goodreads.com.

I think that this is a card that is suitable for most people and occassions, although I really hope I wouldn't have to explain who Johnny Cash is..

Best of British TIOT

Dearest Minions,

This is my latest offering for the TIOT challenge which is Best of British. There are so many things that the British do well; ghost stories, graveyards, tea, art and amazing buildings. However one thing that we export very sucessfully is villains, in books and movies.  Charles Dance in Game of Thrones, Jermery Irons in the die hard movies and in the Lion King and not forgetting the amazing Alan Rickman in the Harry Potter films and Die Hard. Christopher Lee smacks these villains around with a wizard's staff and no visable spandex, so here he is.

The image has been filtered via photoshop elements and the background stamped with the indigo Blu union jack stamp in black soot distress ink.

skulls need love too

Dearest Minions,

Greetings this is my entry to this week's less is more challenge which is 3. So I have done hearts with 3 colours on the skulls. The skull hearts are from the most excellent Smudgetastic digis I coloured them with fleximarkers. I wanted to do something with Hearts as it is the Smudger challenge this month to use some thing with Hearts. Anything goes at ATC and cards with attitude also seems to fit, so they have got a visit from the skull trio.

I have also discovered a challenge site which also asks for cards which is the St Luke's charity cards challenge this challenge site raises money for a hospice in Sheffield. Their theme this month is Teenage Kicks - I think this card would suit a nice little Emo.

I also made this version for my beloved as we have an anniversay comming up. He could make the last Indy movie the curse of the crystal skull fun hence the gleaming. Skulls have been made all shiney with diamond dust on glossy accents and font is bleeding cowboys, which is a favourite of mine.

cheese dreams

Dearest Minions,

This is my entry to the Sunday stampers challenge this week which is dreams and the wonderful Octopode factory which is use a tag. Normally I am rather less is more in my stuff but this just kept evolving - I think of as cheese dreams, talking of cheese should you ever be at Epping, Bury St Edmunds, Bedford or Basildon markets look out for "the cheese and pie stall" she is the Queen of Cheese!

I used an old png of two J W Waterhouse mermaids & the Zebra from Itlkupilli and the beholding eye is from a wonderful drawing of the splendid Johnny Cash by smudgetasticdigis,
The sleeper is cropped from rest on the Horizion by Crafts and me, and Uma and Agatha who seem to turn up in a lot of things recently, are from the Octopode factory. The ink stamps are from Indigo Blu and blade rubber stamps.

Here is a close up of the main image.

Dark news comes on dark wings

Dearest Minions,

Greetings, in this month's craft stamper magerzine there is an article by Paula Whittaker on an aged vintage technique. I got all excited when I saw this and decided to try it. Here are the results, I used different card stock (glossy works best) and pens:

What I didn't take a photo of is my hands which are dirtier than a media mogul's conscience.

I am entering the top photo into this week's Macarbe monday's challenge which is vile vintage, I am calling the piece "dark news comes on dark wings" in honour of the wonderful second season of A Game of Thrones.

BINGO BANGO!

Dearest Minions,

usually the only thing that I have to do with bingo is wings.. it's just not my bag, but the bingo card used by try it on Tuesday this week is so my bag and comes with a twist; use a butterfly. I used the flower, 2 backing papers and a touch of lace row.

The main image is accetate and doesn't come out too well in photos, sorry. She is a long haired beauty from Itkupilli estey shop, backed with sprayed tissue paper. the backing papers are from calio crafts and some backing paper from a Tim Holtz product. The flower is also from calio and the spinner is Timi! again, the butterfly is from a set by mind eye and the dictionary definintion of wish and wishful is from the Beano.. ok a dictionary. I used wishful as sepia wasn't there and vintage just went on about wines.

Look forward to seeing your entries.

the road to a friend's house

Dearest Minions,

I love these digis! Agatha and Uma with the cheshire cat all from the Octopode Factory and the dinky little house from Michelle Webb, coloured with flexi markers and copics. The wording reads: "The road to a friend's house is never long. Danish proverb." I painted the eyes and the windows with glossy accents which gives that glassy/liquid look. I love the sentiment, my friends mean the world to me, so raise glass to you all..

I am entering this into the following challenges:
Pan pastals - use a digi
Totally paper craft- use a digital image
Stampin for the weekend - show us your syle - flashing up some creepy sweetiness in a simple style.
Cmc - copic challenge group BIG hair- because let's face it hair like that does not just happen...

below are variations on the theme.
